Greetings, 7F!

BHHS What is going on? We’ve had heat rivalling Black Friday in 1939. Our quadrangle is an archaeological site. The school is one huge construction zone and has been since September 2007. The classrooms are thick with dust.

What a time to be starting your secondary school career!

Don’t worry, 7F! In just five or six weeks (allowing for the vagaries of builders and some inevitable holdups) the school should be a haven of learning, a comfortable and happy place to be. Here’s hoping! Actually, this school IS a happy place even now. That’s why I can’t leave. I hope you like it here too.

This blog has activities, information and assignment sheets. There’s a homework box (top far right) to help you keep up to date. But don’t worry, there’s no homework yet. In fact, I tend only to set homework in large chunks over several weeks, with plenty of class time to do the work if you get organised. You have to have a life!

I’m also hoping that some of you will contribute to our school history blog, called Hystified at http://historyshadows.globalstudent.org.au . You can choose to do this for your assignment work if you like. If you choose to do this I’ll need your email address and I’ll assign you a user name so that you can log on and start posting!

You can also leave a comment any time. Comments are automatically emailed to me before publication so they are also a good way to get in touch with me if you lose my email address. Use only your first name when you sign them.

In the meantime, I wish you the very best as you start your high school years.

Kind regards and welcome!
